I love this yarn! I made myself some super comfy moccasin style slippers with it. It is hand spun so it is chunky in some spots and thin in others but I think that just adds to the charm of the yarn!

The idea of yak down was so alluring. I'd never heard of anything like it, expect perhaps Alpaca. I just imagined is would be so soft and fluffy like petting one of those strangely cute cow cousins. Sad to say, I was disappointed. I knew it was going to be to brown, undyed yak down, but it had a faint musky odor to it. It wasn't as smooth, but some spots were soft, but not all over. I just didn't think it would do for the pattern I had in mind. For warm mittens or socks, but not too much for fashion statement. Yak silk looks promising.

The yarn is great to work with. It's soft and great to work with. Only wish that each skein was a bit larger to be able to make an adult hat.

This yarn is so soft. It will become a shawl one day soon. Love yak yarn.

Excellet yarn, nice feel, knits up soft and wonderful, no itchy scratchy to it all - almost feels like cotton

For a beginner like myself, rolling it into a ball was very very challenging...and, as Chandi has perfectly described it, it is inconsistent in its texture (I don't know the proper lingo yet!), and to be honest, it wasn't fun for me personally to work with (I tried knitting and crocheting, and eventually just knit it into a simple piece of fabric). But ohhhhh, mama!!! It is the softest piece of fabric, like butter, like silk, like I don't know what, and the color is so cool, knowing it is exactly as it was on the animal, and unaltered/undeyed. Utterly worthy of a baby blanket. And nice subtle halo, as Chandi stated. Definitely worth trying!

It's hard to believe this is undyed natural fiber. The color is luscious enough to eat, and it's so soft in my hands. At first I was wishing it was thicker (I have a soft spot for bulky yarn), but the possibilities are greater with the weight it is. I haven't made anything with it yet, I'm looking for a pattern "worthy" of it :)

I am very satisfied with the yak yarn. Its soft and beautiful.
