SKILL LEVEL:
Adventurous Beginner: This pattern is suitable for crocheters who are ready to combine basic stitches to create a simple mesh lace. Techniques include foundation single crochet (optional), working flat and in the round, and sewing pieces together.
Notes from the Designer:
Simple mesh lace sleeves add interest to just about any outfit. This pattern includes options for straight sleeves and bell sleeves for added flare. Leave long tails at the start and end of the Front and Back pieces for sewing them together.
- The samples shown in size XS used approximately 400 yds / 366 m for the straight sleeves and 500 yds / 457 m for the bell sleeves.
- Choose your size based on your upper chest circumference. Measure directly under your arms (armpits). If you need to adjust armhole depth, add or remove rows from Front and Back pieces accordingly.
- Gauge is important in this pattern to ensure fit.
- To work gauge swatch, work 19 FSC. (Alternatively, ch 20, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea ch across [19 sc]). Work Row 2 of Front, and then work Row 3 of Front until you have 9 mesh stitch rows.

"Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over.” – Octavia E. Butler
