MATERIALS:

Expression Fiber Arts Yak Silk Fingering yarn

Pointed Scarf shown in color: Sillage.

Pointed Shawl shown in color: In a Galaxy Far Far Away.

Rectangular Shawl shown in color: Scarlet.

All versions used two skeins each. 

If those colors aren't available, any from this category will work.

NEEDLE:

All Versions: US size ​​4 (3.5mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

The pointed edge scarf and shawl versions are worked from tip to tip with simple increases and decreases, and the rectangular shawl version is a simple, straightforward knit. Viola is an easy knit that’s perfect for showing off hand-dyed yarns. Create a delicate, floral accessory that will elevate any outfit with feminine charm in just a few afternoons. For knitters craving an effortlessly elegant, lace design, the Viola pattern delivers a touch of springtime style. Let your look blossom with its delicate beauty!

  • The pointed scarf sample shown used approximately 600 yds/549 m total.
  • The pointed shawl sample shown used approximately 860 yds/786 m total.
  • The rectangular shawl sample shown used approximately 767 yds/701 m total.
  • Follow charted or written instructions according to your preference.
  • The pattern is shown with optional beading. The beads were alternated on different motifs.
  • The pointed scarf sample worked 10 repeats of the main section, and the pointed shawl sample worked 5 repeats of the main section. The rectangular shawl worked 5 repeats of the main section.
  • The optional bead placement is denoted in purple (YOB) on the scarf chart. If you do not wish to add beads, work as a yo instead.
  • For the pointed scarf, follow Charts 1, 3, and 5 only. For the pointed shawl, follow Charts 1 - 5.
  • The rectangular shawl pattern uses Chart 6, and written directions begin on page 12.
