Intermediate: This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include cables, special stitches, and reading charts.

Notes from the Designer:

Sister is a rectangular, cabled piece that can be worn as either a shawl or scarf. It is accented by a beautifully textured bramble stitch, and the main body features giant cables bookending a central XO cable. Designer Anne Robinson was inspired by one of her favorite vocalists Karen Carpenter. Karen's rich, silky voice is interpreted in the deep chestnut color of EFA's elegant Beacon DK yarn base. Anne said, "Karen's voice brings with it a sense of nostalgia to me, and that is reflected in the cozy stitch patterns and the way the finished piece wraps around the body.” This is the perfect knit for anyone who enjoys texture and cables.

• The sample shown used approximately 925 yds (846 m) total.
• This pattern can easily be adjusted to be longer, if you wish; simply keep on knitting!
• Scrap paper is your friend. You will need to keep a separate tally of your Bramble Stitch rows (a 4- row rep), your OXOX cable rows (a 16-row rep), and your RC + LC rows (an 8-row rep).
• Charts are located on pages 7 - 8 of the pattern. You will need to be able to read charts to knit this pattern.
