Expression Fiber Arts Glimmer Fingering Yarn (Discontinued)

Our Glimmer Fingering yarn base has been discontinued, but this top can be made with any of our other Fingering weight yarns.

Shown in color: Atlas 

Glimmer Fingering Yardage: 400 m / 439 yd per 100 g (3.5 oz) skein.

3, (3, 4, 4, 4,)(5, 5, 6, 6) skeins  

If that color isn't available, any from this category will work.

NEEDLES: US size 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, 32” or longer to accommodate the number of stitches at the armholes and above (or size needed to make gauge), plus an additional needle in the same size for working a three-needle BO.

US size 3 (3.25 mm) circular needle, 16” and 24” to work the neck and armhole trim and the hem ribbing (or one size smaller than size needed to make gauge).

Adventurous Beginner-  This pattern is suited to the adventurous knitter with some experience seaming (using mattress stitch and the three-needle BO method) and working in the round.

Notes From the Designer:

•Think of Shala as the sister tee to Hadi: they share the same lace pattern, but are shaped differently.

•Shala is a Dolman style tee with lace at the shoulders instead of the full bodice.

•This piece is knit flat in two pieces and seamed at the sides, with stitches picked up around the neckline and armholes to work the trim in the round.

•A three-needle BO across the top of each sleeve adds strength to the shoulders.

•Shala is my favorite kind of garment construction: simple but structured. You’ll enjoy adding this to your summer wardrobe (and may find yourself wearing it year round!).
