Intermediate - This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include cables, lace stitches, joining panels, and blocking.

Notes from the Designer:

Like most knitters, I take my yarn and needles wherever I go. My grandchildren call it my magic bag because what I do is magical to them, so I decided to name this pattern for my youngest granddaughter Olivia. Her Hebrew name is Orli, which means “my light.” The poncho contains a “shell” stitch and a basic braided cable. This pattern is easy enough for someone who has never attempted a cable stitch, but engaging enough to keep the most seasoned knitter interested.

• The total yardage for sizes without the collar: S/M: 550 yds (503 m), L/XL: 785 yds (718 m), and 2XL/3XL: 890 yds (814 m).
• The total yardage for sizes with the collar: S/M: 650 yds (594 m), L/XL: 900 yds (823 m), and 2XL/ 3XL: 1,020 yds (933 m).
• Each blocked panel size (width x length): S/M: 15” (38 cm) x 28” (71 cm), L/XL: 17” (43 cm) x 32” (81cm), and 2XL/3XL: 19” (48 cm) x 36” (91 cm).
• It is recommended that you knit a swatch and block it to check gauge, as the yarn and stitches are stretchy.
• It is recommended to use either a solid or tonal colors. The cable stitch gets lost with variegated yarn.
