Intermediate: This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with crocheting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include foundation half double crochet, herringbone half double crochet, garment shaping, and construction.

Notes from the Designer:

Inspired by the graceful silhouettes of ancient Egyptian royalty, the Nefru Cardigan is a modern masterpiece that radiates timeless elegance. Its open design and flowing drape are reminiscent of the luxurious robes once worn by pharaohs, blending simplicity and sophistication in perfect harmony.

The cardigan is worked flat in one piece, sideways from side to side, forming a large U-shaped body panel. Once the panel is complete, it is folded in half and partially seamed along the sides, leaving openings for short sleeves. A simple finishing row is added around the bottom edge, front opening, and sleeve hems for a clean, polished look.

• The cardigan is designed to have an oversized fit, with approximately 8” (20 cm) of positive ease. To choose your size, find the bust measurement in the table (page 8) that is 8” (20 cm) larger than your actual bust measurement. However, feel free to size up or down based on how you want the cardigan to fit.
• Before beginning, it is suggested that you go through the pattern and highlight the rows and totals that are applicable to your chosen size.
• The sample shown is a size Small and is shown modeled on a 34” (86 cm) bust.
• The turning chain does not count as a stitch.
• Stitch counts are listed after each row. If no stitch count is given, there has been no change since the previous row.
• There is no right side or wrong side; both sides are identical. You can decide which side to use as the "right side" when sewing the sides and creating edges.
