MERAK HUES - a Serbian word meaning: 'a sense of bliss or oneness with the Universe that comes from simple pleasures.' I've been getting up around 5 am lately to start my day early, read/meditation/move/plan/vision/write. The other morning I decided to head out to my hammock. It was soaking wet from the rain we'd had the night before, but instead of recoiling and heading back inside, I lied down on it anyway, allowing the water to seep into my pajamas. The sky was still inky with barely-there hints of light behind the clouds. Silence. The neighborhood was still sleeping. I was alone but surrounded by life. The huge southern trees shimmied next to me and whispered - Good morning. All is well. All is well. The birds chattered about their daily plans. It was a sweet moment of quiet, dark (and wet!) stillness. It was unusual. Fresh. Calming. A snippet of wonder and magic before the day began.

The colors in this kit reminded me of that moment - the perfect shifting gradient from twilight blue to blue/teal to teal to green/teal to forest green. I hope while knitting/crocheting with this kit, you experience Merak.
