Notes from the Designer:
This seafarer-themed crochet pattern features a Celtic knot motif on the vertical panel, reminiscent of interwoven ropes. The knots symbolize harmony, friendship, and affection—values highly regarded by those who brave the open sea. Additionally, the horizontal brioche panels draw inspiration from seagrass meadows, which play a vital role in coastal storm protection and carbon dioxide sequestration. Crafted with intricate overlay work and featuring the elegant brioche crochet style, this scarf will definitely become your go-to accessory.

- The scarf sample shown used approximately 1,370 yds/1,253 m total: Color A: 1,050 yds/960 m and Color B: 320 yds/293 m.
- The shawl sample shown used approximately 1,616 yds/1,478 m total: Color A: 1,424 yds/1,302 m and Color B: 192 yds/176 m.
- Gauge is important to this project, so please take the time to make a gauge swatch to ensure your gauge matches the pattern gauge.
- Turning chain does not count as a stitch unless stated otherwise in pattern.
- In Vertical Overlay section, all odd-numbered rows are the RS; all even-numbered rows are the WS.
- In Vertical section, except for Row 3, all post stitches are worked around the next unworked post stitch 2 rows below. Post stitches (FPdc, FPdc2tog) are worked on the RS only.
- Every front post stitch will have a skipped stitch left unworked directly behind it. It is not explicitly mentioned in the pattern instructions. Do not work into it to maintain correct stitch count.
- When working Brioche section, use a stitch marker in your first and last stitch of each row to ensure straight edges and no missed stitches.
- In the Brioche section, every row of a new color joined starts with a standing stitch and ends by fastening off the yarn.
- Part 1 for the Shawl Version is charted only. Refer to page 8 for shawl charts and instructions.
