35.5" laid flat or 71" diameter x 27” wide (90 cm laid flat or 180 cm diameter x 69 cm wide), blocked; Size is adjustable.

MATERIALS:

Expression Fiber Arts Alpaca Silk Lace yarn

Shown in colors: Delicate Dance Hues Kit, colors worked lightest to darkest

3 entire skeins used (1,812 yards / 1,656 meters) 

If those colors aren't available, any from this category will work.

NEEDLE:

US 2 (2.75 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge

Circulars to desired size (sample was made on 30"/76 cm circulars)

• The sample shown used all of the yarn in the skeins.
• The pattern casts on the diameter of the shawl, and each round/repeat adds to the width.
• The final shape is a large cowl with zigzag/scalloped edges.
• The sample shown begins with the lightest color and ends with the darkest color.
• For a cowl with a greater or lesser diameter, add or subtract from the cast on number in multiples of 18.
• For a wider or slimmer cowl, work more or less pattern repeats.
