Notes from the Designer:
My daughter loves ballroom dancing. She loves dancing everything from the classic Foxtrot to the spicy Paso Doble. It is important for her to keep her legs and ankles warm while warming up and practicing, so leg warmers are ideal for this purpose. This sock pattern was adapted with love from a leg warmer pattern I made for her.
- Pattern is written to be worked cuff down using four DPNs, but feel free to substitute your favorite sock making method.
- You will need to be able to read a chart to knit this pattern.
- The pattern is easily adjustable for both leg and foot length, but yardage estimates are based on working the pattern as written for the leg length.
- As a general rule of thumb, if you wear a US women’s shoe size 5.5 - 7, use the Small size of this pattern; US women’s shoe size 7.5 - 9, use the Medium; and US women’s shoe size 9.5 - 11, use Large. You can adapt length and width as necessary.
- Check the fit of your socks often. When you want to check the fit of your sock, transfer the stitches purlwise to waste yarn, and try on the sock. Slip stitches purlwise back to needles to resume knitting.
- The chart in this pattern was adapted from a chart found in Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible: 260 Exquisite Patterns by Hitomi Shida.
