Notes from the Designer:
If you love cats, you need to make this cowl! Expression Fiber Arts has designed some yarn colors that resemble different cat breeds. If you have a special cat, find the yarn that represents your cat, and knit this creation. Other cat lovers will stop you and ask about the cats on the cowl, and then you can share stories about your own cat.
The entire cowl is knitted in Stockinette Stitch, except for the top and bottom borders, which are created with Seed Stitch. If you have never knitted by carrying one yarn behind the other, give it a try! It’s not hard. It just takes patience and practice. When you finish, this cowl will be a conversation piece.
- The sample shown used approximately 595 yds/544 m total: Color BC: 350 yds/320 m and Color CC: 245 yds/224 m.
- The body of the cowl is worked in Stockinette Stitch using the Fair Isle knitting technique, which is also referred to as "stranded colorwork" or "stranded knitting.” Watch our video, which shows different ways to knit Fair Isle. You’ll need to determine the best method for you.
- The top and bottom edges are worked in Seed Stitch.
- The pattern includes written and charted instructions for each section of the cowl. Use the method that is easiest for you to follow.
