Notes from the Designer:

Found family doesn't always look the way we expect. Sometimes it arrives in pieces, from different directions, in colors we never thought to put together, and somehow it becomes exactly right. Gold runs through this blanket like magic, reminding us that we are both the center of our own story and held within something greater.

Worked in 16 squares, each of which starts at the center and expands outward to meet the others, this design is meditative, rhythmic, and deeply satisfying to assemble into something whole. This blanket is for those who have found where they belong and for the ones still searching. May it encircle you like the community you deserve.

  • Click the Videos tab to watch a video showing how to crochet the squares and seam them together, and learn more about our 2026 Fall Crochet and Read Along.
  • The sample shown used approximately 5,430 yds/4,970 m total: Color A: 510 yds/470 m, Color B: 500 yds/460 m, Color C: 510 yds/470 m, Color D: 500 yds/460 m, Color E: 500 yds/460 m, Color F: 470 yds/430 m, Color G: 470 yds/430 m, Color H: 480 yds/440 m, Color I: 490 yds/450 m, Color J: 500 yds/460 m, and Color K: 500 yds/460 m.
  • Throughout the pattern, the yarn will be held double. When using two different colors, hold one strand of each color together. When working with a single color, hold two strands of that color together either from a cake with a center pull and outside pull or with two balls of the same color.
  • This blanket is made of 16 squares following the color table on page 7. They will be arranged according to the schematic on page 8 and joined according to the join instructions on page 6 and join schematic on page 9.
