Notes From the Designer:
I wanted to create a half-pi shawl that wraps around you and feels like a warm embrace. The shawl starts with simple Stockinette stitches that are followed by a four-row lace repeat that flows into the Slanted Twigs pattern. The colors remind me of bright green, flowing plants like a Dichondra, a plant in the Morning Glory family. Part of the pattern reminds me of vines that twist and turn, as they flow down towards the ground until they get to the bright green, lush foliage of the leaves pattern. The shawl is then finished off with a knitted-on border, which allows the bottom of the shawl to drape without worrying about the tension of a typical bind off.
- Click the Videos tab to watch a tutorial on how to work the Garter Tab Cast On, as well as the knitted-on border.
- Gauge is not crucial to this project, but will affect yardage and size. This pattern is not easily adjustable.
- Blocking is crucial to showcase the lace patterns. Do not be afraid to stretch firmly.
