Notes from the Designer:

There is a particular peace that comes from making something slowly with intention, stitch by stitch, row by row, always moving toward the center.

This blanket is worked in 16 squares, and each one begins at the outer edge and draws inward, row by row, toward a still and quiet heart. The design is meditative, rhythmic, and deeply satisfying to watch take shape.

Gold runs through this blanket like magic, reminding us that we are both the center of our own story and held within something greater. Knit it slowly. Let it center you.

  • Click the Videos tab to watch a video showing how to knit the mitered squares that are featured in this pattern, and learn more about our 2026 Fall Knit and Read Along.
  • The sample shown used approximately 5,250 yds/4,800 m total: Color A: 510 yds/470 m, Color B: 510 yds/470 m, Color C: 480 yds/440 m, Color D: 480 yds/440 m, Color E: 460 yds/420 m, Color F: 460 yds/420 m, Color G: 470 yds/430 m, Color H: 480 yds/440 m, Color I: 480 yds/440 m, Color J: 460 yds/420 m, and Color K: 460 yds/420 m.
  • Throughout the pattern, the yarn will be held double. When using two different colors, hold one strand of each color together. When working with a single color, hold two strands of that color together either from a cake with a center pull and outside pull or with two balls of the same color.
  • 65” (165 cm) of tail for the Long Tail CO of 121 stitches leaves approximately a 10” (25.5 cm) tail.
  • Once a stitch marker is placed in Row 1, the pattern is worked as follows until there are only 3 stitches left (Row 119):
  • RS: Knit to marker, slip marker, S2KP2, knit to end.
  • WS: Knit to 1 stitch before marker, sl1pwyif, remove marker, k1, place marker, knit to end.
