SUSURROUS HUES - Susurrous means full of whispering sounds - imagine the wind swirling through a darkened forest; the leaves whisper and chatter amongst themselves. What secrets will they share? This kit is a rich bark brown, shadowy taupe, and 2 speckled shades that contain cranberry, bark brown, antique rose, briarpatch green and more! Use this kit to knit the Fall Gloaming shawl or the Infinitesimal cardigan.

YARN - Superwash Merino Wool Silk Pearlescent Worsted - (50:50) Smooth with a gorgeous gleam. Sure to be a favorite!

MERINO WOOL is ultra soft, creamy to the touch, cloud-like and breathes so you stay comfortable and cozy. We had these spun with a very fine merino wool so it's incredibly soft and wonderful for next-to-skin accessories and garments. It has a lovely stretch and "memory" so it's a breeze to create hats, mittens, sweaters, socks, boot toppers, blankets and virtually anything else you'd need some elasticity and bounce for.

MULBERRY SILK is a dream... it glows and gleams and takes the dye so well, that the colors just pop like crazy. It also contributes to the lovely softness.

~When you combine these two fibers into a single ply yarn like this, you get subtle differences in tone as the wool and silk take the dye slightly differently. The colors truly appear to be iridescent and other-worldly.

This kit was a bit of a disappointment for me.The two browns are far too similar. I definitely would not call one taupe. Held together it’s hard to tell them apart. Another had way too much white in it. The other thing was that it was extremely ‘wooly’ and doesn’t have quite the sheen you see in the pictures. I had high expectations for this kit and I had considered returning it before I wound it all up into cakes. I plan to make the fall gloaming shawl but it’s questionable how thrilled I will be with the end result. (I may love it who knows!) I’ve purchased a great deal of yarn from EFA in the past and have always been very happy with all previous purchases. I would have put this in an ‘Oopsy’ kit.

I was really looking forward to this kit, but I am very disappointed. The two browns are so close together in color that I can't tell them apart unless I hold them under very bright white light, and even then it may be wishful thinking on my part. In normal room lighting, they look exactly the same. The ad photo definitely shows way more difference in tone and value than what I received. The colors are also not labeled individually, so I have no idea which is supposed to be which for making the pattern. I have been pleased with previous EFA purchases, but this one missed the mark. Two stars for the yarn being super soft.

The most gorgeous yarn! So soft-- almost too soft-- and subtle coloration are delicious. Haven't started knitting with this yet, just sleeping with it on my pillow... sigh.
