I love this yarn base, but ….

I do love this yarn base, and I was so excited to get it, with Black Cat, so I could knit a Bluegrass Sweater! Sadly, the hanks of yarn I received do not resemble what is pictured here. At all! All of my hanks are mostly a dusty pink, with only tiny spots of purple/blue. My sweater will look nothing like the sweater on this website. I understand hand dyed yarn can and do vary, there will be differences, but if there weren’t labels on my hanks of yarn, there is no way I could have guessed they were this colorway. One day I will get around to making my sweater, but I’m no longer excited about it. I have been gobbling up yarn from EFA for 10 years, I have bins and bins and bins of EFA yarn. Mostly, they are as pictured or very close to it. But a few times, what I have received has been totally off. This is one of those times where my hanks do not resemble what is pictured, not even close.

Love the yarn base, but ….

I love this yarn base, and bought this colorway, with Black Cat, to make the Bluegrass sweater. Unfortunately, the colorway is nothing like what is pictured here. Even the picture that shows three different hanks are vastly different from what I received. Mine have almost no blue in them; they have a lot of light pink and are a lot lighter than pictured. I’ll still make the sweater, one of these days. I’m just not as excited about it as I was.

Oh my. What JOY it was to open this yarn for the first time. First off, the colors were STUNNING! As I turned the skein over and over, the BEAUTY and softness of this yarn resignated within me. This is truly a THING OF BEAUTY AND LOVE!! I made a shawl with this yarn and I had plans to gift it to a friend, but I must confess. I'M KEEPING IT. I know, but I can't help it. I'm in LOVE!!
