We're Hiring - Full Time Studio Shipper/Receiver

We are hiring for a full time (Monday through Friday, 9-5) studio position for our yarn studio in Charlotte, North Carolina with an immediate start.

This is a full time position (M-F, 9-5). 

Job Role

Expression Fiber Arts is a well-known and beloved yarn brand and online shop known for our high-quality yarns, fiber art supplies and accessories. We primarily cater to the discerning knitter and crocheter. Founded by Chandi Agee in 2011, we emphasize creativity, inspiration, and self-expression through fiber arts. We strive to inspire joy in all we do and seek to develop and maintain a fun, creative, positive work experience for our team members. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

As an Expression Fiber Arts Studio Shipper/Receiver, you will play a pivotal role in our company.

You will be: 

-Shipping orders in a timely, accurate manner.

-Processing incoming shipments, ensuring boxes are broken down, inventory is correctly counted, input into our spreadsheets and items organized correctly on the shelf. 

-Quality checking our products to ensure our customers receive the items expected.

-Ensuring accuracy of inventory levels of both dyed and undyed yarn, as well as accessories. Maintaining correct inventory level is paramount for us to maintain smooth operations and meet customer expectations. 

-Listing and editing products on our website.

-Ensuring studio cleanliness.

-Greeting dyers during their weekly pickups.

-Performing other tasks as needed.

Essential Skills: 

1. Attention to Detail

• Ensuring orders are accurately packaged, labeled, and shipped to the correct addresses.
• Ensuring yarn is quality-checked for accuracy.
• Verifying that received shipments match order details (e.g., quantities, products).

2. Organization

• Keeping workspace clean and organized to streamline shipping and receiving processes.
• Managing inventory efficiently, including stock levels, order supplies, and storing materials properly.

3. Time Management

• Meeting shipping deadlines and processing incoming orders promptly.
• Prioritizing tasks effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth workflow.

4. Communication

• Collaborating with team members to coordinate shipping and receiving tasks.
• Providing clear communication with supervisors and our virtual team about order status and potential delays.

5. Problem-Solving

• Handling any issues that arise with shipments and yarn quality, such as incorrect items, delays, or damaged goods.
• Troubleshooting shipping discrepancies and finding solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.

6. Physical Stamina

• Ability to lift and move packages, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks as needed in a studio environment.

7. Technical Skills

• Familiarity with shipping software, inventory management systems, and online order platforms preferred.
• Operating equipment such as label printers and computers.

8. Teamwork

• Working well with others, especially during high-volume periods, to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Being adaptable and helping out in other areas of the studio as needed.

10. Multitasking

• Juggling multiple responsibilities, from packing and shipping orders to receiving and organizing new stock, without sacrificing accuracy.

 

Requirements: 

-Live in or near Charlotte, North Carolina

-Have reliable transportation

-Be reliable to a fault

-Be able to work Monday-Friday, 9-5

-Be able to work in a quiet, self-directed environment and with others as needed

-Enjoy detailed work

-Be able to perform tasks to a high degree of accuracy
