Expression Fiber Arts Buttery Worsted

Shown here in the Mysa Hues Buttery Worsted kit. If those colors aren't available, any from this category will work.

  • You will need 5 [6, 7, 9, 10] skeins of Expression Fiber Arts Buttery Worsted or 1 [2, 2, 2, 2] Expression Fiber Arts five-skein Buttery Worsted Kits.

NEEDLES:

  • US 15/10 mm 20-40” circular knitting needles for body, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • US 11/8 mm 16” circular knitting needles or DPNs or longer for Magic Loop for sleeves, or size needed to obtain gauge
  • US 10/6 mm 16” circular knitting needles or DPNs or longer for Magic Loop, or one size smaller than needle for sleeves

SKILL LEVEL:

Intermediate – This pattern is for those who feel comfortable with knitting and have made a few projects, using various skills and techniques. Skills/concepts include knitting in the round, knitting flat, cables, increases and decreases, and Magic Ring.

Notes from the Designer:

The Wrapped in Cozy Shrug is an unconventional sweater that is also recognized as a scarf with sleeves. It can be worn multiple ways, and the cables are designed to be flattering on both right side and wrong side of the shrug when wrapped. Lovely horseshoe cables complement the Mysa Hues gradient, and this chunky knit is quick and cozy!

This row-by-row pattern includes a ‘how to wear’ page, cable cheats, schematic, blocking directions, abbreviation key, stitch explanation, and tips and alternatives.

  • This pattern will be available on our website only for a limited time.
  • Read through the entire pattern before beginning.
  • Knit a gauge swatch in the round using US 11/8mm needles before beginning for an accurate fit on the sleeves. Block swatch to gauge. Knit a gauge swatch flat using US 15/10mm needles for an accurate fit on the body. Move up or down a needle size if necessary.
  • If using a different fiber for this wrap, please keep in mind the drape and fit may differ.
  • Put placement markers on the beginning of cable knit rounds/rows to help keep count.
  • Sleeves should be stretchy but snug on the upper arm for best fit. This will help hold up the wrap. Since sleeves are a straight fit, try on the upper arm when approximately 4” is knit. If the sleeve is too loose on the upper arms, move down a size or knit sleeves in a tighter gauge. Move up a size if too tight or knit sleeves in a looser gauge.
  • To bind off loosely, move up one or two needle sizes.
  • Block garment before wearing.
  • YouTube or Google unknown skills.
  • Please contact Amanda Lee of Lovely by Lee directly with any questions that you may have about the pattern: lovelybylee@gmail.com.
