HOOK:

US size ​​F (3.75 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

SKILL LEVEL:

Beginner: For any crocheter who can work basic crochet stitches, including single crochet, half double, and double. A small amount of sewing at the shoulders is required, as well.

Notes from the Designer:

The Cauley Cardigan is a beginner friendly, short sleeved cardigan. This cardigan is worked from the bottom up in one piece with just a tiny bit of seaming at the shoulders. You'll find just basic crochet stitches used in this simple, but beautiful cardigan!

  • Click the Videos tab to watch a video showing how to work the repeating stitch pattern in this design.
  • Turning chain DOES count as first stitch unless stated otherwise within the pattern.
  • Pattern is worked from the bottom up with trim added at the end.
  • When joining in the round, join to first stitch with a slip stitch.
  • Garment has 3-5" of positive ease.
  • For more length, add rows before starting panels.
  • When using hand-dyed yarn, alternate 2-3 skeins every 1-2 rows.
  • Use a stitch marker to help keep track of row numbers.
  • Pattern is written in smallest size with additional sizes in parentheses as follows: XS (S, M, L, XL) (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X). Final stitch count for all sizes is in parentheses at the end of each row/round. If only one stitch count is given, it is for all sizes.
